DESCRIPTION:TOPIC: QC Elite Robotics Team Demonstration & Pizza Lunch\n\nQC
Elite Team 648 Robotics ( www.qcelite.com ) competes annually to inspire
its Quad Cities high school participants to be future engineers and scient
ists. Each January\, teams across the country receive a robot kit\, and mu
st design and build a robot over the next two months to compete against ro
bots from other teams in the region\, leading to the international competi
tion. Each year’s contest is new\, requiring distinctive robot behaviors
. (2012’s robot shot baskets with a regulation basketball.)\n\nQC Elite
is nearing completion of its 2022 robot design and build. The team will be
working all day Saturday\, Feb 19\, as the deadline approaches to seal th
e robot from further development prior to competition. This year’s team
includes about 15 students and engineer advisors. This meeting will be inf
ormal\, watching students put the finishing touches on the robot. The IEEE
St. Ambrose University Student Branch is treating the team to pizza for l
unch. Feel welcome to bring along family members or a young aspiring scien
tist or engineer.\n\nThe team will display and explain the mechanical\, el
ectrical\, and programming features of this year’s robot that distinguis
h it from past competitions.\n\nLOCATION: Arconic Learning Center\, Manor
Drive\, Riverdale\, IA\n\nDIRECTIONS: The Arconic Learning center is locat
ed on Manor Drive\, Riverdale\, Iowa\, just off US\n\n67 directly across f
rom Alcoa. Driving northward from Bettendorf on US 67\, pass the stoplight
entrance to the Arconic plant\, pass the stoplight at the fire station\,
and then turn left onto Manor drive. The parking lot entrance is the first
right on Manor drive. Another approach is to exit Interstate 80 southward
onto U.S. 67\, in which case one turns right onto Manor drive just before
the stop light at the fire station.\n\nAGENDA: 11:15-Noon Arrival and inf
ormal observation of team building activity\n\nNoon-12:30 Lunch - Assorted
 Pizza\, Chips\, Cookies\, Soft Drinks/Lemonade/Water\n\n12:30-1:00 Brief
