DESCRIPTION:The Electrical Engineering Group are delighted to start this ye
ar with a member presentation by Brendon Clarke\, a Principal Electrical E
ngineer with Aecom\, on HV and LV Upgrades - High Criticality and Brownfie
ld Sites.\n\nBrendon will present on a recent project undertaken at Palmer
ston North Hospital that involved the establishment of a new HV supply sub
station\, upgrades to existing HV distribution equipment and an in-situ up
grade of a clinical services LV main switchboard in the basement of the Pa
lmerston North Hospital.\n\nThe presentation will seek to provide insights
into some of the more challenging aspects with upgrading infrastructure i
n a complex brownfield environment\, and notable features implemented to r
educe operational risks and ease future replacements.\n\nAspects include:\
n\n- Installation challenges and delivery constraints\n- HV and LV protect
ion coordination with embedded generation present\n- Maintainability and o
perability design factors\n- Resiliency of supplies and closed source tran
sfer implementation\n- Lifecycle design factors\n- Test approaches and int
egration verification\n- DDoC's and part 1 deviation requirements\n- Manag
ing installation and commissioning risks\n\nFollowing his presentation Bre
ndon will be available to answer questions at the end.\n\nPalmerston North
