pm\, meeting (in person and remote)\n\nAgenda:\n\nApprove prior meeting m
inutes\n\nStudent branch reports\n\nSection Officers Reports\n\nOld and ne
w business\n\n- Magnetics chapter wants a NextGen bank account. This requi
res approval from the section\, but is a departure from section policy on
finance and accounting for chapters.\n\n- Li-C Wang requests technical spo
nsorship of San Diego Section for ITC2024\, and invites anyone that would
like to attend the in-person site visit of the Hilton Bayfront in San Dieg

nd any action item cleanup.\n\n- Multiple requests for Senior Elevation as
sistance.\n\n- EYH 2022 Invoice\n\n- IEEE Foundation inactivity fees have
been instituted. Forgive me for my ignorance\, but I'd like to know why we
couldn't have given money from this fund to something like the Guitar Amp
lifier program at SDSU. Or\, why we can't do that\, today.\n\nFrom Larry:\
nThere is a major need to develop impactful IEEE San Diego Section project
s and activities that support\nthree local university IEEE Student Chapter
s\, as well support science and math programs\, fairs and\ncompetitions in
the K-12 schools within the San Diego area.\n\nTo support these scientifi
c and educational programs it is necessary for the IEEE San Diego Section
to\nconduct fundraising programs. To seed the fund\, held within the IEEE
Foundation\, the IEEE San Diego\nSection requests a transfer of $20\,000 f
rom its operating surplus to challenge industry and\nprivate/public donors
to provide a matching contribution.\n\nPROPOSED ACTION:\nResolved that th
e IEEE San Diego Section shall be authorized to transfer up to USD $20\,00
0 of its\n2013 operating surplus to the IEEE Foundation and be placed in t
he IEEE San Diego Section Fund.\nResolved further that the IEEE San Diego
Section Executive Committee shall be authorized to\nadminister the IEEE Sa
n Diego Section Fund program and fund-raise in coordination with the IEEE\
nDevelopment Office and IEEE Foundation\, shall be approved.\n\nFINANCIAL
IMPLICATIONS:\nThe transfer of the seed money from IEEE San Diego Section
to the Fund is the only financial\nimplication.\n\nPROS:\nIncreased member
and corporate participation in local projects which supports the objectiv
es of the\nIEEE by providing an easy means of making tax deductible donati
ons.\nPromote local public awareness and stature of the IEEE.\nProvide sup
port to local universities at the both the graduate and undergraduate leve
ls.\nProvide support for STEM related initiatives in the local K-12 school
s\nCONS:\nWe will miss opportunities to attract corporate participation an
d money for local IEEE projects.\nWe will miss the opportunity to seek and
distribute funds from the IEEE San Diego Section Fund\n\nAdjourn\n\nTo ad
d to the agenda\, please email w5nyv@arrl.net.\n\nAgenda: \n\n\nBldg: Adva
