DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) Philadelphia Chapte
r is holding a virtual meeting using Microsoft Teams titled\, DC Rolling S
tock High-Speed Circuit Breaker Technical Presentation. Mr. Oleg Goureev\,
Component and Systems Manager\, and Mr. Martin Bussiere\, Business Develo
pment Manager\, Rail Segment North America\, ABB Electrification Products\
, are our guest speakers.\n\nABB will give a presentation on their latest
DC rolling stock high-speed circuit breaker called DCBreak. It is a medium
-voltage high-speed bi-directional DC circuit breaker for rolling stock ap
plication power supply up to 1800 V\, 1500 A\, with a breaking capacity of
30 kA. The DCBreak circuit breaker family for rolling stock combines a sm
all footprint\, reduced weight\, high flexibility and reliable operation w
ith minimal maintenance. It is ABB’s first in a line of new products int
ended for the direct current railway transportation market. It is designed
to high safety standards as well as relevant environmental directives and
industry standards. Engineered with flexibility in mind\, it is as easy t
o implement in new builds as well as retrofit into existing ones\, and its
simplified design makes for reduced maintenance time and costs. This tech
nical presentation will also discuss AC and DC train line relays\, contact
ors\, and 1000 V dc miniature circuit breakers for distribution systems on
buses and rail cars.\n\nAttendees may apply for 1.0 PDH upon completion o
f lecture.\nCertificates will be provided through the IEEE Certificates Pr
ogram\, accepted in all states.\nPDHs are provided at a cost of $5.00 per
certificate.\nSend payment to Brandon Swartley via Zelle at brandon.swartl
ey@ieee.org.\nEvaluation forms must be completed online to obtain PDH cert
 ificates at https://r2.ieee.org/philadelphia-vts/forms/\nPayment and evalu
ation form must be completed within one week after meeting.\n\nSpeaker(s):
Mr. Oleg Goureev\, Mr. Martin Bussiere\n\nAgenda: \nIntroduction of ABB r
epresentatives and STV representatives\nTechnical hands on presentation of
the ABB high speed circuit breaker\nApplication of the ABB HSCB in a prop
ulsion system.\nABB Molded Case circuit breakers migration to the XT for t
he various onboard systems distribution and protection\nPush in technology
connection on DC and AC Train Line relays and DC and AC Contactors versus
