 owing event at Slingshot.\n\nSummary:\n\nThis presentation will detail Vir
 ginia Tech’s ECE 4806 Major Design Experience team that worked with Wile
 y|Wilson for the past year to design a microgrid emergency management syst
 em located in Blacksburg\, Virginia on Virginia Tech&#39;s campus. Research wa
 s completed on the specific battery type to utilize in the battery storage
  system\, and the battery storage system was then implemented into the ove
 rall microgrid system. The emergency management system supplies power to a
  main community center with electric vehicle (EV) charging stations\, UPS 
 workstations\, and server racks\, and it can supply power independently fr
 om the main power grid. The overall project goals were to achieve greater 
 energy independence\, reduce environmental impacts\, and reduce overall el
