DESCRIPTION:RE: Monthly webinar – XiangShan: An Open-source High-performa
nce RISC-V Processor using Agile Methodology\n\nSpeaker: Professor Yungang
Bao\, Institute of Computing Technology (ICT)\, Chinese Academy of Scienc
es (CAS) and the deputy director of ICT-CAS\n\nDate: Tuesday\, May 17th\,
2022 4:00 PM (Israel Time).\n\nDear IEEE Israel chapter members\, Dear gue
sts\,\n\nThe IEEE Computer Society Israel conducts a series of webinars in
different areas of computer systems\, Software engineering\, Computer arc
 hitectures\, data center\, accelerators for machine learning\, security\,
and more. The webinars offer insightful and enriching talks held by intern
ational leaders and professionals of the computer society sector.\n\nThe n
ext free online webinar will include a special talk “XiangShan: An Open-
source High-performance RISC-V Processor using Agile Methodology” by Pro
fessor Yungang Bao\, Institute of Computing Technology (ICT)\, Chinese Aca
demy of Sciences (CAS) and the deputy director of ICT-CAS.\n\nXiangShan is
an open-source high-performance RISC-V processor project started in June
2020. The first generation of XiangShan was taped-out at a frequency of 1.
3GHz on 28-nm CMOS process in July 2021\, which achieved a score of 7/GHz
on SPECCPU 2006. The second generation of XiangShan targets 2GHz on 14-nm
CMOS process and will be taped-out recently\, achieving a score of 10/GHz
on SPECCPU 2006. XiangShan is developed in an agile methodology. During th
e development\, we built many open-source agile tools\, including differen
 tial testing\, simulation snapshot\, RISC-V checkpoints\, etc. XiangShan i
s an open-source project and we look forward to collaborations and contrib
utions from the community.\n\nThe Webinar is free\, but pre-registration i
s required. So\, please sign up using this [link](https://technion.zoom.us
/webinar/register/WN_lMErhN-jQoSGBxDp5hNkiQ) and the Zoom session details
will be provided after registration.\n\nPlease contact us for any further
details and updates on the series of IEEE Computer Society Webinars.\n\nWe
are looking forward to your participation and future collaboration.\n\nPr
