DESCRIPTION:IEEE SFU Student Branch has organized a Tour to TRIUMF\, where
you can meet professionals in their work setting. You will have a chance t
o interact and learn from experts in the industry\, improve your job prosp
ects and explore the other end of the horizon (beyond lecture sessions).\n
\nThe IEEE SFU Student Branch Team would like to invite you to join us on
a site visit to the TRIUMF (Canada's particle accelerator centre) on June
24th at 10:30 am.\n\nThe seats are limited (~20 students)\, so register AS
AP to take a break from the monotony of the lectures/classes and engage in
practical learning.\n\n* Attendees are required to bring proof of vaccina
tion and be aware of the standard health and safety requirements prior to
arrival\, found [here](https://www.triumf.ca/public-tours/site-safety-info
rmation).\n\n* Parking information can be found [here](https://www.triumf.
ca/home/for-public/parking-information).\n\n* More information about how a
ccelerators work at TRIUMF can be found [here](https://www.discoverourlab.
triumf.ca/discover-our-lab/hpaw/).\n\nAbout TRIUMF (https://www.triumf.ca/
home/about-triumf/about-us/overview-profile):\n\nEstablished in 1968 in Va
ncouver\, TRIUMF is Canada’s particle accelerator centre. The lab is a h
ub for discovery and innovation inspired by a half-century of ingenuity in
answering nature's most challenging questions. From the hunt for the smal
lest particles in our universe to research that advances the next generati
on of batteries or develops isotopes to diagnose and treat disease\, TRIUM
F drives more than scientific discovery. Powered by its complement of top
talent and advanced accelerator infrastructure\, TRIUMF is pushing the fro
ntiers in isotope science and innovation\, as well as technologies to addr
ess fundamental and applied problems in particle and nuclear physics\, and
the materials and life sciences. TRIUMF's diverse community of nearly 600
 multidisciplinary researchers\, engineers\, technicians\, tradespeople\,
staff\, and students create a unique incubator for Canadian excellence\, a
s well as a portal to premier global collaborations. Our passion for under
standing everything from the nature of the nucleus to the creation of the
cosmos sparks imagination\, inspiration\, improved health\, economic oppor
tunity\, and a better world for all.\n\nBldg: TRIUMF\, 4004 Wesbrook Mall
