DESCRIPTION:Roorkee institute of technology successfully organised an Exper
 t Session on “Application of Optical fiber in Telecommunication” for a
 ll the students of RIT Roorkee. The eminent speaker is Prof. Jurgis Porins
 \, Dean of Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications\, Riga Technical 
 University (RTU)\, Riga Latvia. His major focus was on "Optical frequency 
 comb generator based on a whispering gallery mode Micro-Resonator for Tele
 communications System". He also emphasized the challenges encountered duri
 ng Microsphere fabrication process. Additionally\, Roorkee Institute of Te
 chnology officially signed an MoU with Riga Technical University in terms 
 of Students/Faculty Exchange Program\, Collaborative Research activity\, I
 nternship opportunity to students. The following members were present duri
 ng this ceremony: Prof. Jurgis Porins\, Dean of Faculty of Electronics and
  Telecommunications\, Riga Technical University (RTU)\; Prof. Zane Purlaur
 a\, Deputy director\, International Cooperation and Foreign Students Depar
 tment\; Director\, Prof. (Dr.) Parag Jain\, RIT Roorkee\; Dean Academics\,
  Mr. Gaurav Chaturvedi\, RIT Roorkee\; Heads of all departments of RIT Roo
 rkee.\n\nThe Riga Technical University is the oldest technical university 
 in the Baltic countries established on October 14\, 1862. It is one of the
  eight holders of the European university of technology EUt+. In March 201
 7\, RTU announced that it had won the first place among universities in La
 tvia in the international U-Multirank rating. The employment of RTU gradua
 tes is rated the highest (at the A level). RTU is also the highest rated L
 atvian higher education institution. The RTU was recognized as the 14th be
 st in the world and RTU is also included in other European and world-class
  university rankings such as "QS World University Rating"\, "Eduniversal"
