s e ferramentas de EDA para a síntese física.\n\n14:45 - 15:00: How to f
eed a growing population while conserving the planet's resources - IoT to
the Rescue - by Victor Grimblatt\nWorld population is growing and accordin
g to FAO (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization) the agricultur
e production should increase by 70% by 2050. On the other hand it is also
well known that the agriculture is dramatically impacting the 9 planetary
boundaries defined by Johan Rockström and his group in 2009. So we are fa
cing a big dilemma\, how to improve the productivity of the soil without i
mpacting the planet and its limits.\nThe growth of crops depend on several
parameters such as soil moisture\, soil temperature\, nutrients (fertiliz
ers)\, soil pH\, soil salinity\, etc. Without having an on line measuremen
t (real time) of those parameters we will probably be able to get products
from the ground\, however we are not taking in account what are the impac
t of what we are doing and the way we are making agriculture. With the app
ropriate sensors and IoT we are able not only to know the level of the par
ameters already mentioned but also to act based on the results. This talk
will present an IoT approach to measure relevant parameters for crop growt
h and health while keeping the planet safe. It will also cover the need an
d design of edge computing for this kind of IoT application.\n\nSpeaker(s)
