DESCRIPTION:Austin ComSoc/SP/CtSoc and Computer/EMBS joint chapters would l

ct:\n\nThe interconnection of quantum devices via the Quantum Internet –
i.e.\, through a network enabling quantum communications among remote qua

nternet can provide functionalities with no counterpart in the classical w
orld\, such as advanced quantum security services\, distributed quantum co
mputing services characterized by exponential increase of the computing po
wer\, and new forms of communications. These functionalities have the pote
ntial of fundamentally changing the world in which we live\, in ways we ca
nnot image yet.\n\nThe aim of this talk is to provide the participants wit
h a wide view about quantum communications and quantum networks\, and the
unique challenges for transmitting quantum information. For this\, some ma
rvels of quantum mechanics such as entanglement\, no-cloning theorem and t
eleportation\, will be gently introduced.\n\nBio\n\nAngela Sara Cacciapuot
