DESCRIPTION:I’m sending this to the entire group for information about a
meeting where access is usually limited to Town of Huntington residents wi
th a Senior Citizen card. The card can be obtained at the Senior Citizen C
enter. The process takes about 5 minutes and requires identification such
as a driver’s license. We usually have non-residents attending as guest
speakers or panelists. If you would be available as a panelist\, let me kn
ow and tell the attendant at the door that you are a panelist.\n\nI hope y
ou are all well. Welcome to our second meeting continuing our meetings at
the Huntington Senior Center on Thursday\, October 20th at 1:30 PM in Room
  214. And we will attempt to continue at the same time and location on a m
onthly basis. Our room is at least twice as big as 205.\n\nPlease confirm
your interest in continuing as a member of our group\, whether you will at
tend the 10/20 meeting\, your preferred email address and any other inform
ation about your interests. Also mention anyone else you know who was a me
mber or would like to join us. I am going through our prior sign in sheets
as well. I am a bit rusty and slower and need assistance in continued org
anizing.\n\nA current area of interest is Robotics and Automation. Several
of us have organized an LI Chapter of the IEEE Robotics and Automation So
ciety and we have purchased several educational robots. We put on several
robotics workshops for children at the Harborfields Library and we plan to
bring them to other libraries. When mentioning it to Julia Frangione\, sh
e thought it would be a great workshop to present to other Seniors at the
Center. It would be in addition to our regular meetings. We can continue d
iscussing this at our meetings..\n\nThe agenda I am planning for our meeti
ng is as follows:\n\n1:30-2:00pm – each person attending will spend a fe
w minutes bringing us up to date on their activities.\n\n2:00-2:30pm – w
e will stream and pause to discuss the second lecture in The Great Courses
Series Robotics. An outline of the whole course is attached.\n\n2:30-3:30
pm – We will demonstrate and share operation of the Create3 Robot.\n\n3:
30-4:00pm - – we will evaluate the experience and decide whether to cont
inue in future meetings\, or do something else.\n\nWe are considering a Zo
om connection for those with interest and concern who cannot attend in per
son.\n\nI haven’t checked everyone yet\, but I sadly report that we have
lost two members and they will be missed. Bob Bozzone and Don Clarke. If
you know of others\, let me know.\n\nFeel free to ask additional questions
.\n\nThe Huntington Town Senior Citizens Center\, 423 Park Avenue\, Huntin
gton\, NY 11743. It is on the South West side of the intersection of 25A a
nd Park Ave. It is a converted school and the first part of the building i
s leased to the Cinema Arts Center. The Main road to the building is off P
ark Ave\, South of the intersection. The entrance to the building is past
the Cinema Arts Center and it is well marked. The entrance to the meeting
area is on the West side of the building and is covered with a Maroon cano
py. We will be in Room 214\, immediately to the right of the entrance.\n\n
I strongly recommend that everyone read through the details of earlier ann
ouncements and attachments and respond by stating their personal interests
. We form our programs in response to those statements.\n\nWe express our
thanks to the IEEE Long Island Section for supporting the establishment of
Engineers Clubs\, the staff of the Huntington Senior Center for providing
us the opportunity to use meeting rooms and the wonderful support they ha
ve provided.\n\nI wish everyone good health and thank you all for your con
tributions to our collective effort.\n\nRoom: 214\, Huntington Town Senior
