DESCRIPTION:IEEE Seminar on “Integration of Distributed Energy Resources
& Electric Transportation in Distribution Systems” by Dr. Julio Romero A
güero\, Vice President\, Strategy & Business Innovation at Quanta Technol
ogy.\n\nFor those who are attending the physical meeting at KTH Campus\, r
efreshments will be served.\nPls indicate physical attendance when registe
ring and state any dietary requirements.\n\nAbstract and bio are below:\n\
nAbstract\n\nThis presentation will discuss industry practices for integra
tion of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and electric vehicles in distri
bution systems\, including a review of steady state and dynamic/transient
impacts such as voltage fluctuations\, reverse power flow\, line and equip
ment loading increase\, etc. This presentation will also discuss mitigatio
n measures for integration of these technologies in distribution grids\, i
ncluding traditional and modern solutions such as modification of settings
and operation modes of voltage control and regulation equipment\, smart i
nverter functions\, etc. Additional topics include benefits of these techn
ologies\, including capacity/investment deferral and reliability/resilienc
y improvement.\n\nBio\n\nDr. Julio Romero Agüero is Vice President\, Stra
tegy & Business Innovation at Quanta Technology. He has 27 years of experi
ence\, he provides leadership to Quanta Technology in the areas of technol
ogy and business strategy\, innovation\, grid modernization\, distribution
systems planning\, reliability\, resiliency\, and integration of distribu
ted energy resources and emerging technologies. He has developed solutions
in these areas for electric utilities and regulatory boards in the USA\,
Canada\, Latin America\, the Caribbean and Asia. He is a Senior Member of
the IEEE\, a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE PES\, and currently serves as
