 nting) of tiny power devices currently\nbeing deployed for everything from
  conditional monitoring to making your toaster intelligent comprises\nwhat
  is referred to as the Internet of Things / Industrial Internet of Things 
 (IoT / IIoT). Most of these\nwireless sensor networks (WSN) derive their p
 ower from batteries and even worse\, from primary (non-\nrechargeable) sou
 rces. These tiny system power budgets can be supplemented\, and perhaps ev
 en\ncompletely sourced\, from ambient energy scavenging\, also known as en
 ergy harvesting (EH).\nThis talk shall review the fundamentals of EH\, dis
 cuss some of the tradeoffs with implementation\, reveal\nsome universal de
 sign philosophies\, and tie all these factors into design optimization\nst
 rategies/techniques in several\, common use cases. Additionally\, there wi
 ll be discussion on common\nmisperceptions around EH (e.g. – negligible 
 power\, too expensive\, no production ecosystem\, etc.) and\nhow these fac
