DESCRIPTION:This lecture is intended for engineers and researchers in the f
 ield of high voltage electronics who want to\nuse circuit and field simula
 tions in everyday practice of designing HV power supplies. Influenced heav
 ily\nby the instructor experience\, the lecture focuses on the power circu
 itry of high-performance switch-mode\npower supplies ranging from units to
  hundreds of kV and up to hundreds of kW. The target of circuit simulation
 s made on a PSpice platform are dc-to-dc converters as the most challengin
 g blocks of HVPS.\nThe emphasis is on defining the parasitics from field s
 imulations\, ultimately\, to the level of performing\ncoupled analyses. Fi
 eld simulations encompass electrostatics (for insulation design)\, electro
 magnetics\n(design of transformers\, chokes\, etc.\, with account for eddy
  currents)\, heat transfer and multi-physics. An\nexample of the latter wo
 uld be CFD problems related to electro-hydrodynamics\, e.g.\, oil driven b
 y\nelectrostatic forces. Most of the topics are illustrated by simulations
