  to students\, faculty and industry members the opportunity to join the ap
 proved project of the creation of EdSoc Virtual Graduate Study Consortium 
 (VGSC) and motivate their future participation in IEEE SA working groups.\
 n\nWhat is the IEEE Education Society Virtual Graduate Student Consortium 
 Project?\n\nOn June 22\, 2021\, the IEEE Education Society Board of Direct
 ors approved a proposal to form a Virtual Graduate Study Consortium (VGSC)
 . The VGSC will not be limited in time and space to a particular conferenc
 e. It will be a virtual organization (VO) initiated and sponsored by the I
 EEE Education Society with other IEEE organizational units (Societies/Coun
 cils) as well as academic and industry partners. The VGSC will be built us
 ing a participatory action research approach adopted for the development o
 f the first IEEE Standards Association standard (IEEE SA Std. 1876 - 2019)
  on Networked Smart Learning Objects for Online Laboratories. This approac
 h is found to be suitable due to the evolving nature of technological infr
 astructures based on interactive devices and innovative pedagogies such as
  contextualized learning\, mentoring\, and smart tutoring systems. The hum
 an mentoring actors for the project would be volunteer teacher-researchers
  and members of IEEE including the IEEE Education Society members as well 
 as other partners\, especially members of the standards working groups. We
  also count on all participants in the various committees such as the IEEE
  Transactions on Education Editors and the IEEE Transaction on Learning Te
 chnologies. In this way\, we will co-build or use the environments and too
 ls necessary to achieve the goals that are useful to higher education cand
