DESCRIPTION:PDGC CONFERENCE DAY-1\n\n25th November 2022\, JUIT\, Waknaghat\
n\nThe Seventh IEEE International Conference on Parallel\, Distributed and
Grid Computing 2022 has been organized by department of Computer Science
and Engineering and Information Technology at Jaypee University of Informa
tion Technology\, Waknaghat\, Solan\, Himachal Pradesh.\n\nThe Conference
begun with an Inauguration Ceremony on 25th November 2022 at 9:45 AM. It c
ommenced with Saraswati Vandana\, which was presented by Dr. Ruchi Verma a
nd a few JUIT students. Proceeding\, the Conference General Chair\, Dr. Ha
ri Singh briefed about the conference. Then\, the Principal General Chair
and HoD CSE&IT\, Prof. Vivek Kumar Sehgal talked about the salient feature
s of the department and the conference.\n\nThe conference was then address
ed by the Dean\, Academics & Research\, Prof. Ashok Kumar Gupta. Honorable
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma then addressed and shared a v
ery interesting tip and talked about how we should learn things outside ou
r domain while exploring different areas of research during a conference.
There were around 240 members attending the conference inauguration. Headi
ng on\, all the dignitaries were requested to unveil the souvenir of the P
DGC 2022 and the conference was declared open by the Vice-Chancellor. Afte
rwards\, the Conference Chair\, Dr. Ravindara Bhatt offered the vote of th
anks to all the grandees. The Conference Co-Chair Dr. Rajni Mohana nicely
moderated the whole session.\n\nThe first keynote talk was presented by Pr
of. Rajkumar Buyya\, Computing and Information System\, Melbourne Universi
ty\, Australia at 10:45 AM\, who shared his work on Cloud Computing and Bi
g Data/IoT applications in engineering\, and health care (e.g.\, COVID-19)
\, deep learning/Artificial intelligence (AI)\, satellite image processing
\, and natural language processing.\n\nMoving on\, all the PDGC members we
re given a short break with high tea along with parallel session refreshme
nts.The second keynote speaker\, Prof. Martin Berzins\, School of Computin
g\, University of Utah\, Salt Lake City\, Utah\, USA at 12:15 PM addressed
the challenge of porting large complex codes to heterogeneous exsacale Co
mputers. His paper described the evolution of The Uintah Computational Fra
mework to be ready for architectures to make portable use of forthcoming e
xascale systems.\n\nThe PDGC members were then provided the lunch break. S
econd keynote was followed by the parallel sessions-I which began at 2:00
PM.\n\nThe third keynote speaker\, Prof. Jitendra Chhabra\, Department of
Computer Engineering\, NIT Kurukshetra spoke on the topic\, “Developing
Intelligent Systems Using Machine Learning and Optimization” at 3:15 PM.
He said\, “A strong backbone of parallel and distributed computing at t
he level of hardware as well as software is must to support all such compu
tationally intensive decisions. So\, the boundaries of hardware and softwa
re are blurred now and world is progressing towards developing intelligent
 systems comprising of multi-processing hardware\, smart parallel/distribu
ted algorithms\, IOT devices and sensors and complex software taking intel
ligent decisions. All such systems internally use lot of structured and un
structured data\, ML algorithms\, soft computing techniques\, and optimiza
tion methodologies. So\, there is a tremendous scope for the researchers t
o contribute innovatively in developing such intelligent systems”.\n\nTh
is was followed by the parallel sessions-II which began at 4:15 PM.\n\nPDG
C CONFERENCE DAY-2\n\n26 th November 2022\, JUIT\, Waknaghat\n\nThe Sevent
h IEEE International Conference on Parallel\, Distributed and Grid Computi
ng 2022 organized by Department of Computer Science and Engineering and In
formation Technology at Jaypee University of Information Technology\, Wakn
aghat\, Solan\, Himachal Pradesh started it’s Day-2 on 26th November 202
2 at 10:00AM with a keynote talk by Prof. Jinzhu Gao\, Professor Stockton\
, USA on Intelligent Data Analytics. The second keynote speaker\, Prof. Se
ema Bawa\, Thapar University\, Patiala\, Punjab\, India started her keynot
e talk at 2:00 PM on Paradigm shifts in distributed computing.\n\nOn this
day 60 papers were presented by various researchers in two parallel sessio
ns. The day ended with unveiling of PDGC-2022 Souvenir and a Conference di
nner at resort Eutopia. The IEEE student chapter students’ involvement a
nd contribution made the conference organization easy and successful.\n\nP
