This talk will foc us on the communications and networking aspects of these mega-constellatio ns and their integration with the terrestrial networks. The associated com munication and networking problems will be investigated along with potenti al remedies such as the use of distributed massive MIMO and high altitude platform station (HAPS) systems. The talk will conclude with an overview o f the open issues and future research directions.\n\nAbout the Speaker\n\n [Gunes Karabulut Kurt](https://www.linkedin.com/in/gunes-karabulut-kurt-17 15773/) PhD earned a B.S. degree with high honors in electronics and elect rical engineering from Bogazici University\, Istanbul\, Turkey\, and a M.A .Sc and the Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Ottawa\, ON\, Canada. She was a Research Assistant with the CASP Group at the University of Ottawa. She was an algorithm Engineer at TenXc Wireless \, Canada. Dr. Karabulut Kurt was an algorithm Engineer and designer Edgew ater Computer Systems Inc.\, Canada. She was a senior R&D engineer at Turk cell Research and Development Applied Research and Technology\, Istanbul.\ n\nDr. Kurt is currently an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal in Montréal\, QC\, Canada. She was a Professor of Electronics and Communications Engineering\, and the director of the [ Wireless Communications Research Laboratory](https://www.thal.itu.edu.tr/e n/index.html) at the Istanbul Technical University. Dr. Kurt is a Marie Cu rie Fellow and has received the Turkish Academy of Sciences Outstanding Yo ung Scientist (TÜBA-GEBIP) Award in 2019.
