DESCRIPTION:Terahertz (THz) band refers to the frequency range covering rou
ghly 100 GHz – 10 THz. Located between microwave and optical bands\, THz
band has been less explored compared to these widely developed neighborin
g bands. Recently\, however\, THz band is attracting growing interests owi
ng to its potential for exciting applications such as broadband communicat
ion and high-resolution radar systems\, which has been further fueled by t
he recent advancement in high-frequency semiconductor technologies. In thi
s talk\, a review of the properties of THz band will be provided and vario
us THz applications will be overviewed. Then\, an introduction to recently
developed THz integrated circuits as well as THz imaging experiment based
on the developed circuits will be presented.\n\nSpeaker(s): Jae-Sung Rieh
