ernational speakers. We are pleased to invite you to the First Technical T
alk in this series on "Subsea Sensors" by Dr. S. Sakthivel Murugan on 21st
July 2023 from 7:00 PM to 08:00 PM (IST) in online mode.\n\nAbstract:\n\n
This talk provides an overview of the field of Subsea Sensors\, providing
an explanation on how subsea sensors are frequently used in connection wit
h oceanography\, marine or ocean engineering\, ocean exploration\, remotel
y operated vehicle (ROVs) autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). While man
y power sources are available\, the mainstream source for subsea untethere
d vehicles\, sensors\, and instruments are batteries. The session will pro
vide insights on how subsea relates to the amount of and utilization of th
e power source for the propulsion\, instruments\, and/or sensors.\n\nSpeak
er Bio:\n\nDr. S. Sakthivel Murugan\, obtained his B.E from Madras Univers
ity and M.Tech from Pondicherry University. He received his Ph.D. degree f
rom Anna University. His research area is in underwater technology related
to signal processing\, Image processing\, acoustic communication\, acoust
ic wireless sensor networks\, Green Energy Harvesting\, and Underwater Rob
otics. He currently serves as an Associate Professor grade II in the Depar
tment of ECE\, SSN College of Engineering\, Chennai\, Tamil Nadu\, India\,
and he is in SSN since June 2001. He has completed and ongoing research p
rojects funded by DST-SSTP\, TNSCST\, NIOT\, and SSN Trust work more than
120 lakhs. To his credit\, he has authored and co-authored 52+ research ar
ticles on Underwater and Underground Communication in leading Internationa
l Journals including JASA\, Sea Technology\, Geo Marine Science\, etc. He
has delivered invited talks in various forums across India and abroad.\n\n
