DESCRIPTION:For decades\, time synchronization is a foundation technology f
or wireless networks\, supporting from simple data ordering to complex net
work collaboration. The soaring Internet-of-Things (IoT) poses new challen
ges to time synchronization such as high energy efficiency\, low computati
onal complexity\, and\, of course\, high synchronization accuracy. Surpris
ingly\, thriving time synchronization can simultaneously facilitate wirele
ss security. Time synchronization has been demonstrated to extract the har
dware fingerprint of the crystal oscillator\, thus\, supporting node ident
ification\; it has also been adopted to defend against replay attacks for
key generation in wireless networks. In this talk\, the thriving time sync
hronization schemes dedicated to the new requirements will be first introd
uced\; then the interdisciplinary research of adopting time synchronizatio
n for solving wireless security problems will be discussed.\n\nSpeaker(s):
