On Wed nesday\, 29th March 2023\, the IEEE CIS SB of Sri Sairam Institute of Tech nology decided to organize a seminar to address this need and motivate the students in their pursuit of their desired career. The guest speaker\, Ms . Judith Joseph\, is a Senior Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services\, and has formerly worked at companies such as Kimberly Clark and Tesla as an electrical engineer. The session began with an inaugural address from D anyashri C\, Treasurer\, IEEE SB SIT\, following which the guest was felic itated with a memento for her presence. The session started with the speak er elucidating on her experiences on obtaining an undergraduate degree in India\, then making the decision to move abroad to further her career\, wh erein she worked odd jobs to support herself\, with the economy. Being an immigrant to a first-world country wasn’t an easy task for her\, she fac ed discrimination\, was disadvantaged yet she believed in herself\, worked hard and got selected into Tesla as an electrical engineer. Her work at T esla exposed her to different technologies\, which piqued her interest int o the realm of computer science\, and thus she made projects\, transitione d to a solutions architect role at AWS. Afterwards\, a QnA session was hel d\, wherein she gave valuable advice to budding engineers and motivated th em.
