DESCRIPTION:On September 12\, 2023\, Department of Electrical Engineering i
n collaboration with IEEE YMCA Student Branch\, IEEE JUIT Student Branch\,
IEEE WIE AG Delhi Section\, IEEE SIGHT Delhi Section and Institute Innova
tion Council (IIC) convened a session on “Power Electronics in Electric
Vehicles” at the J.C. Bose University's Multimedia Center. This session
was dedicated to exploring the vital role of Power Electronics in Electric
Vehicles (EVs).\n\nThe event commenced with a warm welcome and the presen
tation of saplings to distinguished chief guests\, underscoring our commit
ment to environmental sustainability. The event was inaugurated by Prof Anj
u Gupta\, Prof Rajesh Ahuja\, Prof P.R. Sharma and speaker. The eloquent s
peaker for the day was Prof. Prerna Gaur\, campus director of NSUT and fir
st women chair elect of IEEE India Council. The event gained substantial m
omentum through a compelling presentation delivered by the distinguished P
rof Prerna Gaur. Her presentation provided an illuminating overview of the
latest developments and challenges in the field of power electronics in e
lectric vehicles. Prof Prerna expertise and insightful analysis greatly en
riched our understanding of this critical domain\, leaving a lasting impre
ssion on all attendees.\n\nIn a significant moment\, members of the Electr
ical Department jointly inaugurated IEEE PES for 2023\, emphasising their
dedication to excellence in the field. The core of the event was a compreh
ensive session on power electronics in electric vehicles\, fostering meani
ngful discussions and sharing valuable insights. Additionally\, talks on s
tartup culture and incubation centers expanded the horizon\, emphasising e
ntrepreneurial opportunities within electrical engineering. The event concl
uded with an engaging Q&A session\, promoting knowledge exchange and colla
boration among participants.\n\nIn summary\, the IEEE PES event focusing o
n "Power Electronics in Electric Vehicles" was an unequivocal triumph. It
not only assembled a diverse array of perspectives and expertise but also
fostered innovation and a profound appreciation for the central role that
power electronics plays in moulding the trajectory of sustainable transpor
tation. With a robust emphasis on sustainability\, ingenuity\, and knowled
ge dissemination\, the event left attendees motivated and well-prepared to
contribute significantly to the dynamic landscape of the electric vehicle
 industry.\n\nSpeaker(s): Prof. Prerna Gaur\n\nJC BOSE UNIVERSITY\, FARIDA
