DESCRIPTION:We are planning to organize a hands-on workshop on the Internet
of Things (IoT) for pre-university (school level students). This activity
will be performed at Government Boys Elementary and Lower Secondary Schoo
l\, Islamkot Tharparkar. This workshop is a dynamic and STEM activity desi
gned for underprivileged students aged from 11 to 18 years old. The aim of
this workshop is to bridge the gap of digital divide between the underpri
vileged and urban pre-university students with opportunities to explore th
e IoT technological world. Through this hands-on STEM activity\, participa
nts will develop problem-solving skills which they would eventually use it
for required application.\n\nDuring the hands-on workshop\, the students
will be introduced to a series of activities including the concepts of IoT
\, sensor interaction\, basics of programming\, how to connect sensors wit
h Arduino\, data collection and so forth. They will have a chance to inter
act with some real sensors\, including DHT11 & DHT22 (temperature and humi
dity sensor)\, infrared sensor\, HC-SR04 (ultrasonic sensor). The series e
xperiments will be perform using the above sensors and collected data will
be monitored. Thus\, the student will come to know about how to assemble
and program them to collect the data and apply those sensors for various a
pplications\, i.e.\, healthcare and agriculture to smart cities and enviro
nmental monitoring. In the end\, we will donate a few IoT sensors and Ardu
ino (ESP8266 or ESP32) to school for practicing of their students. These s
eries of activities will open the doors for the students for the potential
future career in the field of engineering and technology.\n\nGovernment B
