DESCRIPTION:On October 5\, 2023\, the IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chap
ter and IEEE CS BDC Team SPARK organized an event to celebrate IEEE Day 20
23. The event was held virtually on Zoom and was attended by participants
from around the world.\n\nThe event featured two keynote speakers\, Sarah
Borba and Frenny Luvania Paye. Borba is a Researcher at the Area of Inerti
al Sensors and Trajectory Tracking at the Federal University of Campina Gr
ande in Brazil. Paye is the Former President of the XXVII CONEIMERA UNA PU
NO and a Finalist in the ASME Environmental Division System Contest.\n\nBo
th speakers gave inspiring talks on the theme of "Leveraging technology fo
r a better tomorrow." Borba discussed her work on using inertial sensors t
o develop new technologies for navigation and tracking. Paye shared her ex
periences as a young engineer working to solve environmental problems.\n\n
In addition to the keynote talks\, the event also featured a panel discuss
ion on "Connecting\, Contributing\, and Leading: Exploring the Rewards of
Volunteering in IEEE Congresses." The panelists were all experienced IEEE
volunteers who shared their insights on the benefits of volunteering and h
ow to get involved.\n\nThe event was a great success and provided particip
ants with an opportunity to learn about the latest trends in technology an
d to connect with other IEEE members from around the world.\n\nHere are so
me of the key takeaways from the event:\n\n- Technology has the potential
to solve some of the world's biggest challenges\, such as climate change a
nd poverty.\n- Volunteering in IEEE congresses is a great way to learn new
skills\, network with professionals\, and make a difference in the world.
\n- IEEE is a global community of engineers and scientists who are working
together to create a better future.\n\nI encourage everyone to get involv
ed in IEEE and to celebrate IEEE Day!\n\nVirtual: https://events.vtools.ie
