He joined Wichita State University in August 2011 as an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Dep artment. He received a Bachelor's and Master’s degree in electrical engi neering from the University of Moratuwa\, Sri Lanka in 2002 and 2004 respe ctively\, and MS and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State Un iversity in 2006 and 2010 respectively. Before joining Wichita State Unive rsity\, he was a faculty member at Clemson University for one year. His re search interests include power system planning and reliability analysis\, cyber-physical energy systems\, energy resilience and security\, and energ y justice and equity.\n\nDr.Visvakumar Aravinthan is a senior member of IE EE and currently serving as the chair of the IEEE PES Risk\, Reliability\, and Probabilistic Applications Sub-Committee and leading the Power and En ergy University Education Survey working group for IEEE PES Power and Ener gy Education Subcommittee.
