DESCRIPTION:A review was undertaken of residential electrical plans with va
rious consumer benefits for electric vehicle owners. The plans mostly offe
red reduced rates (cents/kWh) for EV owners charging at home with various
 stipulations\, e.g.\, time-of-use rates\, Rates were lower\, down to zero\
, for critical time windows which varied by plan. For EV owners with rooft
op photovoltaic panels\, some plans included electricity buyback options.
For one REP\, EV owners with photovoltaic panels and a Tesla PowerWall bac
kup battery could store solar electricity production in the battery and ex
port excess power to the grid during periods of spiking prices. After five
billing cycles (May-September 2023)\, the author has experienced sales to
the grid at rates approaching $5.00 per kWh and monthly bills ranging fro
 m $96 to -$457\n\nSpeaker(s): JAMES\, \n\nAgenda: \nLuncheon 11:30 AM-12:0
