 H-23) was impeccably organized by the &quot;AI and Robotics Club&quot; at the Instit
 ute of Radio Physics and Electronics\, operating under the prestigious ban
 ner of the &quot;IEEE Calcutta University Student Branch&quot;\, at J.N. Bhar Hall. 
 Aspiring teams\, eager to participate in ‘Smart India Hackathon 2023’\
 , enthusiastically presented their ingenious ideas and innovations before 
 our distinguished panel of judges. From this pool of talent\, the crème d
 e la crème was meticulously chosen to represent Calcutta University in th
 e forthcoming Hackathon. The selection process was rigorous\, evaluating t
 eams based on the merit of their ideas\, the degree of innovation showcase
 d\, the effectiveness of teamwork demonstrated\, and the feasibility of im
 plementing their concepts on a large scale. Additionally\, the judges asse
 ssed the robustness of the proposed implementations.\n\nEvent Schedule and
  Highlights: The event was held at J.N. Bhar Hall\, IRPE from 4:30pm to 7:
 30pm.\n\nThe event was orchestrated to unveil the ingenious innovations of
  our students and to meticulously handpick the crème de la crème to repr
 esent Calcutta University in the prestigious Smart India Hackathon 2023.\n
 \nThe Smart India Hackathon (SIH) stands as a nationally revered platform 
 that unites students from diverse educational institutions in a collective
  endeavor to tackle tangible real-world challenges. This hackathon&#39;s overa
 rching objective is to kindle the spirit of collaboration\, ignite innovat
 ive thinking\, and provide students with a stage to showcase their technic
 al prowess. It is a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of Educa
 tion&#39;s Innovation Cell and the All-India Council of Technical Education (A
 ICTE).\n\nThe event was impeccably structured\, with each participating te
 am being called in sequence to deliver their presentations\, each lasting 
 8 minutes. Following their presentations\, our distinguished judges engage
 d in a thoughtful exchange of ideas and posed questions to the teams for 7
  minutes.\n\nIn total\, 15 teams graced us with their innovative ideas\, w
 ith notable mentions such as the &quot;Drone-based AI Vigilance System\,&quot; &quot;Sens
 or Networks for Public Lighting System\,&quot; &quot;Smart Parking Management System
 \,&quot; and the &quot;Underwater Dam Repair and Monitoring System\,&quot; among others.\
 n\nOur esteemed Prof. Dr. Abhirup Das Barman bestowed first place upon the
  &quot;Drone-based AI Vigilance System&quot; by the illustrious team StealthFlight\,
  led by Mr. Subhabrata Bose. Meanwhile\, the &quot;Sensor Networks for Public L
 ighting System&quot; by the remarkable team SGC\, led by Mr. Saranya Mukherjee\
 , and the &quot;Smart Parking Management System&quot; by the innovative team TechInn
 ovators\, led by Mr. Shivam Kumar Sah\, secured second place.\n\nTo conclu
 de this captivating event\, Prof. Dr. Abhirup Das Barman delivered an insi
 ghtful speech\, highlighting the strengths and areas for improvement in so
 me of the presented ideas\, offering guidance to our budding talents.\n\nT

 eccably managed by the dynamic duo of Saranya Mukherjee and Subhojoy Pal.
