 n\nIEEE Kolkata Section organized Student Congress 2023 on the theme “Em
 powering Innovation: Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice”. Part
 icipants from different student branches of IEEE Kolkata Section participa
 ted\, interacted and showcased their activities in this one-day program. T
 his event brought together Section Leaders\, Esteemed Academicians\, Indus
 try Experts\, Students and Branch Counselors of SB/SBCs of IEEE Kolkata Se
 ction. Beside that many young students also participated and interacted wi
 th the IEEE Student and Professional members. This event received more tha
 n 230 online registration from various engineering colleges and universiti
 es in eastern region states West Bengal\, Assam and Tripura. Physical atte
 ndance count was around 150. More than 80 IEEE members volunteered and par
 ticipated in this grand event of IEEE Kolkata Section. It was a gathering 
 of intellectual minds and budding engineers. The event served as a platfor
 m for knowledge exchange\, discussions\, and recognition of Faces of SB/SB
 Cs of IEEE Kolkata Section. The entire IEEE Kolkata Section SAC team under
  the leadership of Prof. Iti Saha Misra\, Chair IEEE Kolkata Section indeb
 ted to each and every expert for their tremendous support and timely mento
 ring during this journey. The speakers were exceptionally great and the fe
 edback received from the participants is extremely positive.\n\nThe event 
 commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Iti Saha Misra\, the Chair of IE
 EE Kolkata Section and a distinguished faculty member at Jadavpur Universi
 ty. Prof. Saha Misra set the tone for the day by emphasizing the importanc
 e of collaborative efforts and innovation in shaping the future of technol
 ogy.\n\nThis session featured esteemed speakers from renowned academic ins
 titutions and industry leaders. Prof. Sivaji Chakravorti\, Department of E
 lectrical Engineering\, Jadavpur University and Senior IEEE Leader\, deliv
 ered an insightful talk on How to do Experiments in a Structured Way. His 
 profound words resonated deeply with the audience\, emphasizing the pressi
 ng need to follow a systematic approach for experiments. Prof. Debatosh Gu
 ha\, Department of Radio Physics and Electronics\, University of Calcutta 
 and IEEE Fellow\, delivered a captivating talk on Why not you? He shared v
 aluable insights into research and technology.\n\nThe event also featured 
 distinguished industry experts who shed light on the practical application
 s of technology in the corporate world. Mr. Sumit Goswami\, Senior Directo
 r of Engineering\, Qualcomm &amp; Chair of Qualcomm India Academic Council and
  the Guest of Honor of the Student Congress 2023 delivered a talk on Fueli
 ng the Connected and Intelligent World. He shed light on the pivotal role 
 played by AI in addressing different challenges of the modern world and it
 s implications in the ongoing digital revolution. Ms. Sudeshna Choudhury\,
  Director\, Sustainability &amp; Multi Cloud\, Partner Ecosystems &amp; Alliances\
 , TCS and IEEE India Council Vice Chair for Women in Engineering (WIE)\, d
 elivered a talk on Innovation for Sustainable Living. She provided valuabl
 e insights into the role of women in technology and sustainability in the 
 corporate landscape. Prof. John Jose\, Department of Computer Science &amp; En
 gineering\, IIT Guwahati\, delivered an eloquent talk on Career Planning a
 nd Professional Growth through IEEE. He shared valuable insights and facil
 itated an engaging discussion by interacting with the participants.\n\nAn 
 additional focal point of the congress was the compelling debate centering
  around &#39;Accountability in the Utilization of AI by Major Corporations.&#39; T
 his discourse ignited contemplative conversations regarding the ethical co
 nsiderations associated with artificial intelligence and its conscientious
  implementation by leading corporate entities. Students hailing from vario
 us universities and institutes actively participated in this intellectuall
 y stimulating event. The debate culminated with the deserving winners bein
 g ceremoniously felicitated\, receiving well-deserved prizes as tokens of 
 recognition for their articulate and compelling arguments. The exchange no
