DESCRIPTION:IEEE PES Central Indiana Chapter is happy to host a technical s
eminar on power quality given by Mr. Larry Conrad\, who has over 40 years
of industry experience in power reliability and quality\, on March 21 at A
ES Indaina's Morris Street Office with free food and beverage. One profess
ional development hour (PDH) can be offered based on requests.\n\nNote: Th
is seminar was rescheduled from its original planned date (March 5) due to
logistic issues. Sorry for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing y
ou on March 21.\n\nAbstract: Voltage sags occur many times more often than
electrical supply interruptions. Sags can be very disruptive when utiliza
tion equipment suddenly shuts down due to the momentary voltage reduction.
The lights blink\, processes quit\, and workers scramble to clean up mess
es\, recover\, and return to nominal operation. This seminar will explain
what sags are\, what causes them and how to estimate their frequency and s
everity. It will also provide known strategies for minimizing and possibly
eliminating their negative effects on utilization equipment.\n\nSpeaker(s
): Larry Conrad\n\nAgenda: \n4:50 - 5:00 pm: Arriving & taking the food\n\
n5:00 - 5:50 pm: Lecture\n\n5:50 - 6:00 pm: Q&A\n\nRoom: Safety Room (1st
