DESCRIPTION:Executive Committee meets to discuss San Diego IEEE activities
at this monthly meeting. All IEEE members are welcome to attend. Please re
gister.\n\nAgenda: \n5:30 pm - 6:00 pm\, Networking and food!\n\n6:00 pm -
 8:00 pm\, meeting (in person and/or remote)\n\nAgenda:\n\nIntroductions\n
\nApprove prior meeting minutes (Minutes to be approved will be in the med
ia section of this vTools event)\n\nStudent Branch Reports\n\nSection Offi
cers Reports\n\n1) OPCOM Seattle\, WA 15 March 2024. Readouts in media sec
tion.\n2) VTS Workshop 1 April - Resources needed? Any roadblocks?\n3) DME
MS 24-25 April - Resources needed? Any roadblocks?\n\nOld and new business
\n\n1) "big list" refresh from database pull.\n\n2) ieee.tv\, YouTube\, Co
llabratec\, etc.\nieee.tv is a service from IEEE. IEEE members log in to a
ccess special members-only programs and site features including downloads
and transcripts.\nYouTube is an ad-driven social media site available to t
he general public for no financial charge.\nIEEE Collabratec is an integra
ted\, online community where technology professionals can network\, collab
orate\, and create in one central hub.\n\nInstructions given to me upon ap
proving the Open Source Digital Radio Local Group in 2023 were to use Coll
abratec. Other social media sites were discouraged. Attempts to use Collab
ratec for the Open Source Digital Radio Local Group have not been successf
ul or enjoyable.\n\nOPCOM 2023 (San Francisco) had a presentation on using
social media for short videos to promote events. In a followup discussion
\, YouTube was discouraged because the content isn't behind a member paywa
ll\, as it is with ieee.tv.\n\nFor the Computer Society San Diego Chapter\
, their programs are on YouTube. The account is provided by a local non-pr
ofit partner. The videos are available to anyone. We are in the process of
getting them on ieee.tv as well.\n\nThe San Diego Section has restarted S
ection programs. Should we authorize a Section YouTube account in order to
host these programs?\n\nWe don't want to necessarily get in the loop of h
osting Chapter content\, especially if a Society has existing resources\,
accounts\, or policies on recordings. This account would be intended for S
ection content.\n\nWe also do not want to start an account and then not ha
ve regularly updated content. If we do this\, then we need to commit to re
cording\, editing\, posting\, and promoting the content that is there.\n\n
Other advantages\, disadvantages\, thoughts?\n\n3) Continuity is important
. We have a number of accounts\, services\, and login information. There h
as been feedback that this could be managed better than it currently is. S
hould we authorize a password account such as 1Password for the Section\,
in order to protect and preserve login information?\n\nIs there a way to b
oth share and compartmentalize sensitive information in the Section in ord
er to improve our records keeping and enable new volunteers to fully parti
cipate?\n\nAdjourn\n\nRoom: Training\, Bldg: ATEC\, 10401 Roselle St\, San
