 Devices that operate on the phase of an Optical beam require less movement
  and can be much faster. Examples of such devices include GLV (grating lig
 ht valve)\, Diffractive MEMS\, and Tunable Fabry Perot filters. Many appli
 cations are enabled by Micromirror devices that rotate in one or two axes.
  Different approaches are used depending on mirror size\, speed\, rotation
  angle\, and whether used in a controlled or resonant mode. One or two dim
 ensional arrays of mirrors are needed for some applications such as Optica
 l Cross-connect Switches. The talk will also review design methodologies a
