 ng.\n\nAbstract:\n\nSince now more than 25 years\, LiDAR technology appear
 ed in the mapping industry.\n\nIf in the early years\, LiDAR appeared as t
 he replacement for Photogrammetry (usually deployed for all airborne mappi
 ng application)\, it appeared quickly that LiDAR will be complementary tec
 hnique to other existing techniques.\n\nNowadays\, LIDAR mapping is widely
  used in all kind of mapping (terrestrial\, kinematic\, airborne\, drones)
  and the resulting point cloud became a standard approach to model objects
  in 3D.\n\nThe presentation will focus on LiDAR technology that are used i
 n mapping industry (history\, principles\, evolution\, limitation)\, data 
 processing of point clouds and some related applications such as Powerline
