Our next MIPSE seminar will be presented by Dr. Stephanie Hansen of Sandia
National Laboratories. Her seminar\, titled “X-ray Spectroscopy for Hig
 h-energy-density Plasma Studies”\, will be on Wednesday\, March 6 at 3:3
0 pm in Room 1005 EECS. One of the challenges of high energy density (HED)
plasmas is probing their interiors – little that originates in their in
teriors survives to be measured other than x-rays. In this seminar\, Dr. H
ansen will describe how x-ray spectroscopy can be used to probe and measur
e the fundamental properties of HED systems\, from inertial confinement fu
sion to astrophysical objects. Please see attached flyer for details\; thi
