DESCRIPTION:The JUIT Student Branch of IEEE inaugurated ChromeCraft masterc
lass: two days Workshop. Day 1 of the workshop includes the session on Bas
ic JavaScript Syntax and Introduction to DOM was conducted by Varnan Matel
a \, Samson Vincent Julius\, and Viren Tanti for the 1st year IEEE members
. The session commenced with an overview of JavaScript\, highlighting its
importance in web development. Participants were introduced to basic synta
x concepts such as variables\, data types\, operators\, and control struct
ures.\n\nFurthermore\, the session delved into the Document Object Model (
DOM)\, elucidating its role in web development and its relationship with J
avaScript. Attendees gained insights into accessing and manipulating HTML
elements dynamically using JavaScript.\n\nThe importance of event handling
in web development was also emphasized\, along with practical examples de
monstrating how to add event listeners to DOM elements and respond to user
interactions.\n\nAdditionally\, participants were introduced to the conce
pt of functions in JavaScript\, including defining and invoking functions\
, as well as understanding the scope and context of variables.\n\nThrougho
ut the session\, interactive examples and hands-on exercises were provided
to reinforce learning and encourage active participation.\n\nIn conclusio
n\, the session served as a comprehensive introduction to JavaScript synta
x and DOM manipulation\, providing 1st year IEEE members with foundational
knowledge essential for web development. Attendees left the session equip
ped with the basic skills and understanding needed to embark on their jour
ney in web development.\n\nDay 2 of the workshop includes the session on a
Budget Manager and Weather Forecast extension. The session commenced with
an overview of Chrome extensions and their significance in enhancing brow
ser functionality.\n\nParticipants were introduced to the key components i
nvolved in building Chrome extensions\, including manifest files\, backgro
und scripts\, popup pages\, and content scripts. Practical demonstrations
were provided to illustrate the structure and implementation of each compo
nent.\n\nThe session then delved into the development process of a Budget
Manager extension\, covering functionalities such as expense tracking\, bu
dget setting\, and visualization of financial data. Participants learned h
ow to leverage HTML\, CSS\, and JavaScript to create an interactive user i
nterface for the extension.\n\nFurthermore\, the session explored the deve
lopment of a Weather Forecast extension using Open Weather Map API\, enabl
ing users to retrieve real-time weather information for their desired loca
tions. Attendees gained insights into API integration\, data fetching\, an
d dynamic content rendering within the extension.\n\nHands-on exercises we
re incorporated throughout the session\, allowing participants to apply th
e concepts learned and build their own Chrome extensions under the guidanc
e of the instructors.\n\nIn conclusion\, the session served as a comprehen
sive introduction to Chrome extension development\, empowering 1st year IE
EE members with the knowledge and skills necessary to create functional an
d impactful extensions for the Chrome browser. Attendees left the session
inspired and equipped to explore further possibilities in the realm of web
  development.\n\nRoom: CR-8\, Jaypee University of Information Technology\
