DESCRIPTION:Special Presentation by Brad Kloza & Naresh Babu of IEEE 5G/6G
Innovation Testbed\n\nHosted by the Future Networks Artificial Intelligenc
e & Machine Learning (AIML) Working Group\n\nDate/Time: Thursday\, April 4
th\, 2024 @ 6pm EDT / 3pm PDT\n\nTopic:\n\n5G/6G Innovation Testbed\n\nAbs
tract:\n\nIEEE recognized a need to fill in the space of collaborative inn
ovation for 5G and 6G networks and to facilitate the transition of ideas i
nto real technologies that could help better human connectivity. Understan
ding that the industry and research communities thrive best in a neutral e
nvironment not bound by geography\, proprietary technologies\, or testing
scope\, IEEE created the 5G/6G Innovation Testbed to foster collaborative
experimentation and advancement among stakeholders in the 5G and 6G ecosys
tem. These stakeholders\, including telecommunications operators\, equipme
nt vendors\, and application developers\, rely on each other to deliver ex
ceptional products and services across an ever-evolving network\, and that
interdependence requires significant testing for conformity and interoper
ability.\n\nThe Innovation Testbed will also serve the academic community
in teaching and research\, by using real network elements in their testing
and analysis. This makes university-obtained data more valuable and usabl
e by industry and will help train a new generation of graduates who are mo
re prepared for real-world applications thanks to hands-on experience gain
ed in the Innovation Testbed.\n\nEEE further envisions the platform to ser
ve as a foundational place of origin for the Network of the Future\, drive
n by a diverse array of leaders in industry and the research community who
work together on innovations\, standards\, and applications across sector
s including manufacturing 2.0\, healthcare\, agriculture\, autonomous vehi
cles\, gaming\, connected products\, smart cities\, virtual reality\, and
more.\n\nIEEE’s position as a neutral\, global organization\, and our us
e of open-source components to power the Innovation Testbed\, enable our p
latform to become a hub and federated testbed model. This allows multiple
companies to test the compatibility of components located on their premise
s by using our platform as a mediator to interface their platforms without
breaching security or company firewalls.\n\nJoin the webinar to learn how
you can benefit from the IEEE 5G/6G Innovation Testbed\n\nCo-sponsored by
