DESCRIPTION:Please consider joining us for this interesting topic.\n\nDalla
s CVT April 2024 update\n\nOur spring 2024 meetings continue with our regu
lar Third Tuesday slot for April.\n\nFor May we are considering a social a
ctivity\, tentatively a Friday evening of AA Baseball with the Frisco Roug
hriders. Watch your email for a poll. We need a good head count for planni
ng purposes.\n\nTuesday\, April 16\, 2024\, 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at UT Dall
as SPN.1\n\nTopic: Coherence Diversity: a new source of gains in wireless
networks\n\nAbstract:\n\nDue to differences in mobility and local scatteri
ng\, the links in a wireless network can experience disparities in coheren
ce time that\, in the past\, were mostly ignored in the modeling and analy
sis of networks. We show that these coherence disparities can be a source
of capacity gains (denoted “coherence diversity”) that are distinct an
d independent of classical gains such as spatial multiplexing\, beamformin
g\, and multiuser diversity. A product superposition is introduced that ca
n exploit these differences in coherence and yield gains in degrees of fre
edom. It is shown that differences in coherence bandwidth also yield a sim
ilar gain. Time permitting\, non-uniformity of CSIT under coherence dispar
ity and disparity in spatial coherence will be discussed. Several open pro
blems in the broad area of coherence diversity will be highlighted.\n\nBio
