DESCRIPTION:I will be talking about my experience working as an electrical
engineering on the ground crew of Solar Impulse: the first airplane to go
around the world only powered by the sun!\n\nThis project accomplished som
ething that still seems impossible today: the First Round-The-World Solar
Flight\, powered only by the sun\, with no fuel or polluting emissions.\nI
n line with the Piccard Family tradition of scientific exploration and pro
tection of the environment\, Solar Impulse wanted to demonstrate that clea
n technologies can achieve impossible goals.\n\nThe record breaking solo f
light of 5 days and 5 nights without fuel from Nagoya to Hawaii gives a cl
ear message : everybody could use the plane’s technologies on the ground
to halve our world’s energy consumption\, save natural resources and im
prove our quality of life. This message will continue to be spread by the
pilots to the general public\, students\, key decision-makers and entrepre
neurs all over the world.\n\nIn July\, we landed in Abu Dhabi and I will t
alk about my experience throughout the project and how I coped with achiev
ing the impossible!\n\nCo-sponsored by: PELS - Dr. Brandon Grainger\n\nSpe
 aker(s): Paige Kassalen\, \, Paige Kassalen\, \n\nAgenda: \nDinner: 6:30-7
