 e innovators. In partnership with SWE\, we hope to empower women to achiev
 e their full potential and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusio
 n.\n\nWhat:\n\nSTEM is a buzz word that everyone is talking about these da
 ys. We take that acronym and bring it to life! Each year we host our Girls
  Engineer It Day event designed to teach that Science\, Technology\, Engin
 eering and Math isn&#39;t as difficult as students might think.\n\nIEEE Sponso
 red Activity: LED Flashlight\n\nStudents learn about IEEE\, engineering di
 sciplines\, and circuit basics. A presentation and discussion is followed 
 by understanding how to solder thru-hole parts including practice lessons.
 \n\nInstruction is followed by a hands-on activity making an LED flashligh
 t. This activity includes soldering in LEDs and assembling their flashligh
 t kit. The student then gets to keep their working LED flashlight which ha
 s been engraved with the IEEE Logo. 100% of the students successfully sold
 ered and assembled their working flashlight!\n\nNumber IEEE Members: 7\n\n
