DESCRIPTION:The IEEE SB SSIT event “#31 BAYESIAN BRILLIANCE: NAVIGATING N
AÏVE BAYES FOR BEGINNERS” held on January 5\,2024 held by our passionat
e student Roshith P B of 3rd AI-DS department was a grand success. Held on
January 5\,2024 from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM\, this online webinar provided an
in-depth understanding of this probabilistic classification algorithm wid
ely used in machine learning.\n\nTIMINGS: 7:30 to 8:30 PM\n\nThe IEEE SB S
SIT event “#31 BAYESIAN BRILLIANCE: NAVIGATING NAÏVE BAYES FOR BEGINNER
S” conducted by our enthusiastic third year student P.B. Roshith of AI-D
S Department on January 5\,2024 was a resounding success. The session bega
n with an introduction to the basic principles of Bayes' Theorem\, which f
orms the foundation for Naive Bayes. The speaker covered the use of Naive
Bayes in classification tasks\, emphasizing its applicability in sentiment
analysis\, spam filtering\, and natural language processing (NLP). The sp
eaker also discussed how the algorithm's efficiency and simplicity allow i
t to handle big datasets with many dimensions. The webinar also covered Na
ive Bayes' advantages and disadvantages. It was recognized for its rapid t
raining times and strong performance even with little data. For their futu
re reference\, the students were also given access to Github repositories.
All of the participants received certificates of gratitude acknowledging
their enthusiasm for discovering new fields. Through a successful demystif
ication of the algorithm\, the webinar made Naive Bayes understandable to
both novices and those looking to deepen their understanding of the algori
thm.\n\nSpeaker(s): Roshith P B\n\nVirtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org
