DESCRIPTION:IEEE PES ESPAÑA | [Webinar(3) 31.05.2024] | THE ENERGY TRANSIT
ION| [Webinar(4º) 31.05.2024] | Artificial intelligence for energy system
s. Developments from TU_DELFT and CITCEA-UPC\n\nFrom IEEE PES SPAIN we con
tinue with the [Webinar] series on the topic\n\nTHE ENERGY TRANSITION | To
wards a DECARBONIZED ECONOMY\n\nThe energy transition towards a decarboniz
ed economy will present a relevant challenge and a crucial transformation
faced by our Society\; Decelerating climate change effects is becoming a m
oral commitment.\nAs a society\, we are part of the decarbonized energy pr
ocess that goes through the electrification of the economy and it is suppo
rted by renewables within a sustainable energy model.\nThis means a change
of paradigm which heads towards an immediate exciting future full of chal
lenges at all levels associated with flexibility in its widest conception.
It is assumed that a change of paradigm\, that requires changing the focu
s from active based asset management towards the digitalization that ensur
es resiliency and security for the future electric systems.\nIn this conte
xt\, we need to contribute and stimulate the exchange of ideas from differ
ent perspectives and experiences\, creating a framework of reflection thro
ugh these series of webinars. The expected benefit and impact is the ident
ification of opportunities within the complexity associated with the chang
e of paradigm.\n\nIn this webinar\, researchers from CITCEA-UPC and TU-DEL
FT will explain their recent developments on artifcial intelligence applic
ations for energy systems.\n\nTitle: Artificial intelligence for energy sy
stems. Developments from TU_DELFT and CITCEA-UPC\n\nContents: The event wi
ll start with an introduction to the main activities from TU Delft "AI Ene
rgy" Lab and CITCEA-UPC "Smart energy and grids" area\, with special focus
on machine learning applications for power systems. Developments from TU
Delft "AI Energy Lab"\, include new computational methods for system opera
tion and control that combine statistical machine learning and mathematica
l optimisation. Special attention will be paid to applications covering co
ngestion managament\, home energy management systems\, security assessment
and on the trust and generazability of AI. Developments from CITCEA-UPC "
Smart energy and grids" area will address data-driven services for enhanci
ng the operation and planning of electrical distribution grids. In particu
lar: non-technical losses estimation\, behind-the-meter PV disaggregation\
, grid expansion planning\, short-term load forecasting and flexibility se
rvices for Balancing Responsible Parties.\n\nSpeakers: Jochen Chremer (TU-
Delft)\, Joan Marc Rodríguez Bernuz (CITCEA-UPC)\, Sara Barja (CITCEA-UPC
)\, Mònica Aragüés (CITCEA-UPC)\, Marc Jené (CITCEA-UPC)\, Antonio E.
Saldaña (CITCEA-UPC)\, Óscar Cabrera (CITCEA-UPC) and Adriano Caprara (C
