DESCRIPTION:Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems
\n\nAs Advanced Air Mobility services increase\, the density of Unmanned A
ircraft Systems (UAS) is expected to increase significantly in the near fu
ture. Such a rise in the number of UAS highlights the need for enhanced si
tuational awareness in the airspace and over-the-air information sharing a
mong the UAS. Traditional approaches developed for crewed aircraft are not
sufficient for UAS. In this talk\, Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) for UAS is pr
esented as a means to enhancing situational awareness and safety in the ai
rspace. V2V communication is essential for enabling UAS to operate coopera
tively\, avoid collisions\, and respond to dynamic scenarios in the airspa
ce. As airspace is a shared resource\, certain questions\, such as which a
ircraft has the right of way\, need to be addressed unambiguously. This ta
lk includes five use-case scenarios proposed by the Radio Technical Commis
sion for Aeronautics\, one of the UAS standards organization.\n\nCo-sponso
