DESCRIPTION:As a member of the PES NOVA/WASH DC Chapter you are cordially i
nvited to attend the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) 4.0 workshop scheduled
Saturday\, Dec. 10\, 2016 from 9:15 AM-3:00 PM at the Applied Physics Labo
ratory (APL) in Laurel\, MD. Attendees are eligible to earn continuing edu
cation credit through IEEE CEU/PDH by participating the duration of the wo
rkshop and completing the necessary forms. Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) 4
.0\n\nScaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a commercial industry systems and s
oftware engineering body of knowledge based on lean and agile values\, pri
nciples\, and practices. Lean and agile methods are currently used by over
95% of public and private sector organizations worldwide. SAFe is a multi
-level model consisting of best practices\, guidelines\, and tools for ent
erprise-wide portfolio management\, value stream management (mission workf
lows\, threads\, and complex acquisitions)\, program management\, and team
-level project management. SAFe provides the program management and system
s engineering discipline necessary to build complex\, enterprise-wide miss
ion and safety-critical systems\, while retaining the flexibility\, adapta
bility\, and market-responsiveness of lean and agile principles. SAFe is e
merging as the de facto standard for Global 500 firms\, top U.S. financial
institutions\, major U.S. defense contractors\, and public sector agencie
s such as the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). During this\, tutorial par
ticipants will engage in hands-on activities to reinforce the learning obj
ectives.\n\nLearning Objectives:\n\n• Understand and explain how SAFe 4.
0 supports Lean & Agile principles.\n\n• Illustrate how and why SAFe 4.0
supports systems and software engineering.\n\n• Master the roles\, resp
onsibilities\, and guidelines of its four major levels.\n\n• Learn how t
o apply SAFe 4.0 for portfolio\, program\, and project management.\n\n•
Identify the business case\, justification\, and rationale for SAFe 4.0.\n
\n• Internalize SAFe 4.0 principles by engaging in simulations and exerc
ises\n\nFor more details: go to INCOSE Chesapeake Chapter web site at: htt
