DESCRIPTION:The Central States VHF Society\, Inc. (CSVHFS) began in the mid
-1960s to foster amateur radio operation on the bands above 50 MHz. Member
ship currently numbers about 300\, principally in the Midwest states. Howe
ver\, members reside in states from the Atlantic Coast to the West Coast a
s well as Canada and several foreign countries.\n\nThe CSVHFS holds a Tech
nical Conference once a year. The conference raises the technical knowledg
e of amateurs by providing:\n\n- A forum for presenting technical papers r
elating to VHF\, UHF\, and Microwave\n- A focal point for the discussion o
f operating practices and procedures\n- The exploration of modes such as E
 arth-Moon-Earth\, Meteor Scatter\, Field Aligned Irregularities\, and E-sk
ip\n- A discussion of other topics that promote operation on Amateur bands
  above 50 MHz\n\nThe Technical Conference includes:\n\n- An Antenna Range\
 n- Noise Figure Measurement\n- Rover Row\n- Dish Bowl\n- Flea Market\n- Ve
ndor Room\n\nThe conference also provides a family program for spouses and
children. Hotel Room Block: Central States VHF Society 2024 Conference\n\
 n[] [][] []\n\n\\\n\nAgenda: \nStates Above 50 MHz\n\nThe States Above 50
MHz program encourages members to work as many states as possible on the b
ands 50 MHz and above. Only members receive awards based on the number of
band states worked.\n\nReverse VUCC\n\nThe Reverse VUCC program recognizes
the contribution of rovers to the world of grid hunting. Rovers operate w
hile in motion or temporarily parked to give new grids to fixed stations.
The program rewards contacts made FROM a set number of grids per band.\n\n
Spring Sprints\n\nThe Spring Sprints encourage amateurs to have fun operat
 ing 50 MHz\, 144 MHz\, 222 MHz\, and 432 MHz one band at a time for four h
ours on four weekends. A score can also be submitted for the May Microwave
Activity Day.\n\nFamily Program\n\nThe Family Program provides educationa
l and social opportunities for non-technical family members. Family member
s will visit our Czech and Slovak Museum\, the Brucemore Mansion\, and the
Amana Colonies.\n\nWe want more children to attend. Please reach out to u
s if you have concerns about programming.\n\nRadisson Hotel Cedar Rapids\,
