DESCRIPTION:Abstract:\n\nRecent federal legislative and regulatory action a
 long changing resource mixes are causing rapid shifts in how our energy sy
 stem is being utilized. Two pieces of Federal legislation\, the CHIPS act 
 and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) are driving an increase in domestic 
 manufacturing leading to load growth and increased renewable energy demand
 . Additionally\, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission passed two groun
 dbreaking rules. The first\, Order 2023\, changes the way that generation 
 is processed by interconnecting utilities. The second\, Order 1920\, moves
  transmission planning towards a more proactive and holistic construct. Du
 ring this talk we will talk about how this all fits to together and what r
 egulatory barriers still exist preventing us from fully building the trans
 mission grid that we need at the lowest possible cost.\n\nSpeaker: David M
