DESCRIPTION:Under Don’s leadership\, the IEEE Fellow Committee has planne
d a full implementation of the BoD\napproved improvements\, particularly s
pecific measures for industry member engagement\, particularly on standard
s\ndevelopment. The IEEE fellow grade is a prestigious recognition by the
Institute to a single individual for his or\nher technical accomplishments
\, impacting society at large. It commands global acclaim and is a prestig
ious honor\neagerly pursued by individuals worldwide. How do you answer th
e question then: Am I qualified to be considered\nfor an IEEE fellow\, par
ticularly\, as a member from industry? What is the best way to prepare a n
omination\npackage? And how re your nomination going to be evaluated? This
talk by Dr. Tan will provide a unique\nperspective from an IEEE Fellow Co
mmittee Immediate Past Chair's viewpoint. It aims to demystify the fellow\
nnomination and evaluation process. He will discuss\, with industry member
 focus\, on recent fellow statistics\,\nnomination package preparation\, c
ontribution category selection\, and qualification characteristics matrix
(e.g.\,\nselection criteria) details. A few samples from past successful n
ominations will be presented and discussed as well.\n\nSpeaker(s): \, Dr D
