DESCRIPTION:Each year\, our Delaware Bay Section sponsors the Science Olymp
iad Workshop series in January. These workshops expose middle and high sch
ool age students to electricity\, its basic theory and principles\, and so
me really exciting and very practical hands-on experiments. This is all in
preparation for them competing in the Science Olympiad later in March.\n\
nThe training sessions are headed up by our own Gordon Lipscy and Wayne Lu
 .\n\nThe sessions are on Saturday mornings: Jan 7\, 14\, 21\, 28 from 9:00
to noon in Evans Hall\, University of Delaware. Attendance at all session
s is not required.\n\nWe expect to have 15-20 students at various ages (mi
ddle and high schoolers) each session. With 2 students for each group duri
ng experiments\, we need to 3-5 helpers each session.\n\nIt is very reward
ing to see these children learn. Everyone who participates is making a rea
l positive difference in the education of these kids and solidifying the f
uture of our profession.\n\nSpeaker(s): Gordon Lipscy\, Wayne Lu\n\nRoom:
