DESCRIPTION:Abstract\n\nTechnology innovations over the years are being use
d to create engineering solutions at a very rapid pace. This talk will pro
vide a success story as an example to students charting out a successful c
areer. I will articulate an example that benefits from the focus on data\,
which is being generated at an increasing rate. Some people characterize
Data as the “new oil”. I will postulate that Data by itself has limite
d Value. To create value from Data it must be positioned to solve one or m
ore problems. At IEEE we have created solutions that leverage our Research
\nbased Data and create solutions.\n\nOne such solution is an Artificial I
ntelligence/Machine Learning based combo Search and Knowledge engine that
uses NLP (Natural Language\nProcessing) called “AskIEEE”. This is a pl
atform that allows non-engineers\, students as well as experienced enginee
rs to ask questions and get answers. The answer is based on IEEE informati
on that has been ingested into the engine. The second use case creates IEE
E DataPort.\nThis is a searchable repository of research Data. The Data ca
n be linked to the author’s IEEE publication and anyone can upload Datas
ets. The Datasets get screened for the metadata and Quality and are assign
ed a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).\n\n[]\n\nDr. Rakesh Kumar\, IEEE Lif
