DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) Philadelphia Chapte
r is holding a technical meeting. The topic is Continuous Monitoring of Su
bstation Assets Using Thermal Imaging. Our speakers are Dr. Tim Dubbs\, Di
rector Applications Engineering\, and Mr. Lenny Shaver\, Director Strategi
 c Marketing\, Advanced Energy Industries.\n\nContinuous thermal monitoring
of critical substation assets is essential to identify potential failure
points and protect aging components. Remote monitoring with thermal imagin
g systems gives you highly accurate data for condition-based maintenance.
Fiber optic sensors are proven to be an effective hot spot monitor and con
troller for power transformers. Bond meters and megohmmeters provide preci
se measurements and superior reliability in rugged outdoor environments. C
ustom software allows data and image monitoring and archiving across multi
ple substations. The presentation will provide examples of turn-key soluti
ons that integrate with existing substation deployment supervisory control
s (DSC) for transformer winding temperatures and complete substation area
monitoring.\n\nThere is no charge for meeting attendance\, only for PDH ce
rtificates.\n\nAttendees may apply for 1.0 PDH provided through the IEEE C
ertificates Program\, accepted in all states. Member cost is $6.00 and non
-member cost is $9.00 (USD) via vTools (credit card payments are processed
through PayPal). Complete online evaluation after lecture at https://r2.i
eee.org/philadelphia-vts/forms/\n\nPayment must be received and evaluation
form must be completed within three days to receive PDH certificate.\n\nI
