 The talk will focus on the development of key technology of intelligent ro
 botics and artificial intelligence. Brief history of AI and robotics devel
 opment will be covered and then key technical issues and development statu
 s of robots around perception\, decision-making and execution will be disc
 ussed in detail. Finally some thoughts on AI technology for robotics inclu
 ding adaptive algorithm\, big data in robots and novel computing architect

 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\n\nAbout the Presenter - 
 Dr. Jason GU received the Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering an
 d information science from the University of Science and Technology of Chi
 na\, in 1992\, the Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Shangh
 ai Jiao Tong University in 1995\, and the PhD degree from the University o
 f Alberta\, Canada\, in 2001. He is currently a Full Professor of Electric
 al and Computer Engineering with Dalhousie University\, Canada. He is also
  a Cross-Appointed Professor with the School of Biomedical Engineering for
  his multidisciplinary research work. He has over 28 years of research and
  teaching experience and has co-authored over 400 papers in journals and c
 onferences. His research areas include robotics\, biomedical engineering\,
  rehabilitation engineering\, neural networks\, and control. He is a fello
 w of the Engineering Institute of Canada and the Canada Academy of Enginee
 ring. He has been the Associate Editor of the Journal of Control and Intel
 ligent Systems\, IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering\,
  IEEE Transactions on Mechatronics\, IEEE SMC Magazine\, the International
  Journal of Robotics and Automation\, Unmanned Systems\, the Journal of En
 gineering and Emerging Technologies\, and IEEE Access. Dr. Gu was the IEEE
  Canada President for 2020-2021 and is currently the IEEE Tellers Committe
