DESCRIPTION:The talk will concern recent developments based on slow-wave tr
ansmission lines\, in PCB and silicon technologies (CMOS or BiCMOS)\, from
RF to mm-waves. After a brief description of current and future applicati
ons in RF & mm-waves\, challenges in the design of RF & mm-wave passive ci
rcuits will be discussed. Then slow-wave concept will be described. It ope
ns the way for the design of small size and high-electrical performance ci
rcuits. Three topologies of slow-wave transmission lines will be detailed:
 S-CPW (for Slow-wave CPW)\, S-µstrip (for Slow-wave µstrip lines) and S
W-SIW (for Slow-wave Substrate Integrated Waveguides). Finally\, several c
ircuits built with this kind of transmission lines will be presented: powe
r dividers\, filters\, couplers\, phase shifters\, VCOs and power amplifie
rs.\n\nCo-sponsored by: NRF KIC\n\nSpeaker(s): Philippe Ferrari\, \, Phili
